Hyrax Films LLC is a small arthouse film production company that operates in Portland, Oregon with a Los Angeles satellite office. Created in 1999 by filmmaker Cullen Hoback, the company has evolved to produce intimate films that strive to embrace imagination in unexpected places. The most recent feature length project to come from Hyrax Films is Monster Camp, a comedic documentary that follows the lives of live-action role-players in the Pacific Northwest.
Hyrax Films specializes in off the beaten path comedies that make the strange realities of our world seem more relatable. The company has a solid reputation for creating projects that have commercial appeal, while utilizing the latest technologies and small creative teams to keep budgets within reason.
Hyrax Films has won awards from multiple film festivals for its productions, including Cinequest, The Rome International, Florida Underground, New York International, and a plethora of other film festivals. Hyrax Films' productions have screened at nearly 100 film festivals.
